What is Crossworks Fellowship

At Crossworks we are working to create a koinonia - A Christ centered united family unit - A group of people with a common interest... loving our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and his people, and helping them to grow and mature so they may do the work of the ministry.

We do not meet in a church building nor do we have regular corporate services every week as we feel there is a better way for people to fellowship with one another in His presence. We meet in homes, on beaches, in restaurants, over coffee and dinner and a variety of other activities that most wouldn't associate with church life.

What sort of people don't go to "Church" as we've known it every Saturday or Sunday? Actually, they're a bunch of people who (hopefully) think & live outside the institutional box - being the church in their community.

Are there similar fellowships - yes! Similar models include house churches, home churches, micro churches, organic churches, simple churches, emerging churches, liquid churches, street churches .......... whatever label you like,

Are we a part of a formal network? ...  yes we are. We are a part of AFFCMI The Australian fellowship of Faith Churches and Ministers International. Affcmi is a relational ministers organisation giving ministers of all sorts of churches and ministries the opportunity to fellowship and submit to one another in relationship with Christ.

What about the Fellowships? Are they... yes and no... they relate to each other and know and understand what is happening in the different fellowships. Email newsletters and websites allow members to find out what's happening where and allows them to choose what they will attend each week depending on their other commitments.

Apostolic churches? - yep - hopefully cutting edge, sent out, breaking new ground etc...

Apostolic ministry? yep working beside Prophets, Pastors, Evangelists and Teachers. Five fold ministry at body level!

Do we endorse all house churches... No... Some house churches are simply following an institutional mindset but in a smaller version!

Are house churches safe? .... hopefully ..... but the only way to be sure with any church is to check them out, use your wisdom, talk to other people & compare them with what you learn from the Bible

How 'emerged' are we? ..... not very far at all - but we're having fun on the journey...

Perhaps a better question would be "Who do we relate to?"   most people in the fellowship would have a relationship or at least a working relationship with Kenn and Lee Bacon who operate in the apostolic anointing. Some would also have a relationship with other ministers in AFFCMI. Kenn and Lee have strong relationships with many AFFCMI ministers as well as with the Board of Directors.
